Born in Charleston, South Carolina, and a long time Greenwood, South Carolina resident. Pierrine Smith was one of the first thirteen women students who were admitted to the College of Charleston (Charleston, S.C.) in 1918. Smith was the first woman honor graduate of the College (1922) and is a nationally accredited judge of the American Rose Society. Pierrine Smith married George A.
